PORT TANGER
Founded in 2020 by stylist Vanessa Reid and photographer Bibi Borthwick and her husband, Port Tanger is more than an eyewear brand -it is a tribute to the duality of place, identity and memory. It takes inspiration from the history of Tangier, a Moroccan city that has been a crossroads for cultures, infused with spirit and golden city lights. With each collection, the brand channels what a traveller aims to experience, crafting elegant eyewear that celebrates the spirit of the seeker.
Each Port Tanger frame is meticulously handmade in Japan by expert artisans. Premium acetate, high-quality hardware inserts and nylon lenses which provide UVA/UVB protection reflect the refined unisex aesthetic. The focus is on embracing the natural curves of the face, creating a seamless harmony between design and individuality, regardless of gender.
Port Tanger frames play beautifully with refined contemporary silhouettes, featuring subtle curves, gold details and Mediterranean inspired lenses. The brand’s six-point motif, discretely engraved on each lens symbolizes their core philosophy. The left side reminding to appreciate the past through nostalgia, tradition and craftsmanship whilst the right embraces the present through hope, design and culture. Port Tanger belongs within the realm of understated luxury, with an exclusive yet personal brand identity.
Beyond product, Port Tanger fosters community. Twice a year, the brad opens the doors and collaborates with with smaller creators, to co-design frames - opening the space for dialogue, exchange and inspiration. Unlike mass produced eye-wear each one of their frame is a door to their world, inviting you to be bold and fearless. Port Tanger’s universe is a strong reflection of their Moroccan roots curating a space linked to a memory, a place and a region.
