RIER

Founded in 2019 by South Tyrolean-born designer Andreas Steiner, Rier is a brand that distills Alpine heritage info flawlessly decontextualized luxury garments. After working for Prada, Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton, Steiner returned to his his autonomous native region and reconnected with local artisans and roots that now define Rier.  The brand speaks through quiet precision and cuts and believes in bridging the gap between northern heritage and contemporary design, offering garments which can transition seamlessly from the mountains to the city.

Craft is the foundation of Rier - strongly committed towards exceptional craftsmanship, working alongside a carefully curated network of artisans across Austria and Italy, ensuring that each piece preserves tradition and integrity. Rier’s production is rooted in centuries old techniques and family run businesses which carry generational expertise. Each stitch, each fabric is chosen with intention crafting garments which are not only durable but also possess a tactile authenticity which is luxurious and perfectly tailored.

Artisanal tradition leads the way, with a slow design philosophy that works exclusively with regionally sourced materials like wool, felt and silk. Technical garments made from 100% organic fibres - weather resistant wool replaces synthetics, and local production ensures minimal carbon footprint. Rier pushes the current industry standards proving that luxury can be both technical and tactile, performative and sustainable.

Rier’s identity is rooted in understated luxury, minimal in design yet rich in details and texture. However, it is not captive to nostalgia, it is a brand in constant motion. Growing up, Steiner has always admired the adaptability and quiet fluidity of traditional Alpine garments, which he wanted to reinterpret into contemporary silhouettes that fuse heritage and timelessness. From the Alps to Paris, curating Rier’s wardrobe move with purpose and poetry.
