SITUATIONIST

Founded in 2021 by self-thought designer Irakli Rusadze, Situationist has emerged as a defining force in contemporary Georgian fashion. Inspired by the political and artistic social rebels of the mid-20th century, it offers design that resonate with the country’s cultural and political narrative. Emerging from Tbilisi, Situationist embodies a fusion of Georgian heritage and avant-garde expression, offering genderless sculptural pieces.

Situationist has an intense personal approach to craftsmanship as each garment is sewn and cut by a single artisan from start to finish, with an exceptional attention to detail. They carry an intimate relationship between craft and design with each piece carrying a signature label left by the maker. The Situationist collections are made from high-quality sourced materials, challenge conventional silhouettes and preserve artisanal expertise.

Situationist id deeply local in its production, with all pieces made made in Georgia - reducing waste, overproduction and supporting the economy. Taking with inspiration from Georgian history and current narratives, the collections often reference traditional garments, rebellious youth culture and raw sensuality. They balance between minimalism and substance, frequently incorporating exaggerated shoulders, unexpected cutouts and sculptural cuts.

Their universe is bold and interplays with power and restraint. Situationist believes in long-lasting fashion that encourages consumers to invest in pieces that they believe in and share appreciation for.
