WELTER SHELTER

Welter Shelter was born during a November storm, when the brand’s founder caught himself drenched and cold, even though he was wearing a new expensive woollen winter coat. Founded in Amsterdam, from a moment of frustration and revelation, Welter Shelter it is an all-weather outerwear brand. It is known for its innovative high-quality coats for men and women, that manage to combine ingenious fabrics with beautiful designs.

Welter Shelter prides itself on creating outerwear that blends technical excellence with elevated comfort. Their outerwear has an average water column of 10.000 mm, which means it can bear as much as 10 litres of water at any given time, ideal for a city or active person. Working in collaboration with Meida®, they have developed a superior insulation program that keeps you warm up to -10C whilst remaining thin, flexible and breathable. The Welter Shelter insulation is a technology using polyethylene micro-fibres which makes one jacket, equal to 5 woolen sweater with a thickness of only 0,8cm.

Committed to sustainability, Welter Shelter is very particularly in terms of the performance of their jackets. Through their collaboration with Meida®, they have crafted an eco-conscious insulation that is made to provide high performance - features like water repellence and durability, without relying on harmful chemicals. Their slow consumerism approach focuses on creating timeless silhouettes built to endure changing seasons, climates and trends.

Minimal in design and maximalist in performance, Welter Shelter crafts outerwear rooted in functional elegance and fabric innovation. Their coats fuse performance with understated style, making them ideal for city dwellers seeking both comfort and sophistication. Their identity is technical, intelligent and subtle sophisticated.
